Writing And Article Marketing Tips & Tricks

Personal qualities Of Online Expert Blogger

of selecting topics to write about made me think of blogs and people.  I realized that how different people write same topic in a different style and come up with several different strategies and that led me to the conclusion that it all depends on the writer. Our blog posts portray what we are and what we want to be.

So, what are the qualities that an online expert blog writer has?  That is a long and controversial discussion.  However, In this blog post I have tried to notify some of the very common attributes  of blog writers.

You have to be socially interactive and must like to be a blogger.  The basic idea of blogging is to present relevant information to people.  When you are doing so, people will ask you questions, and will like to tell you if they like what you have written.  While doing this you got to be careful about the etiquette of writing and respecting readership. All this takes is an insight into that subject which is to handle once you have advanced developmental skills.

  • Must have a writing passion

Since blogging is a writing activity it is necessary to become a good writer.  This can be achieved eventually by constantly writing  the blog also. But if you don’t love writing, it will not be effective as your heart and soul is not in it.  You are doing a job that is to be done.  This kind of writing will not let you connect with your readers and the result is a site that no one wants to read.  This kind of blog will not be indexed by search engines also.  So, if you are not found of writing turn it into a passion with your blog for its success.

  • Responsibility and hard work

You will take the responsibility to provide the best information to your subscribers and readership.  Working hard to provide the best takes time and effort  it takes time to search for a topic that is always unique and still informative for the readers.  Planning to create the best blog and adhering to the blog  schedule is also important and all that is responsibility and hard works.

  • High level of communication skills

Effective communication skills work as an asset when talking to lots of people.  Inviting each one of the readers keeping them engaged to come over again and again requires caring, connecting and sharing. It is a skill that requires positive energy  and focus to acquire.

  • Successful Entrepreneur’s skill

Most of the bloggers maintain blogs because they have to promote their current online business, or they are planning an online business and that is why they have to have successful entrepreneur l skills, to find more and more readers and subscribers relevant to their niche.  So as an expert writer if you use your entrepreneurial skills actively it will work  in your best interest.

  • Creative writing ideas in your niche

Creativity will up grade your blog.  Always have a look and create an insight to add better features that will make it a magnet for new readers and subscribers.  Creative writing ideas and positive words to write blog post takes it to the top for sure.  Every little bit helps.  It will help you make an expert blogger.

  • Kind and Compassionate to every one

This very important aspect that will give you an opportunity to be ranked by people as one of the top blogs.  Simply because the main purpose of a blog is to provide all kind of information to everyone in your niche.  Therefore if someone needs help to know more and asks a question you have to move right away and provide as much assistance as possible to accommodate the requirement of the person who questioned.

  • Ready to meet deadlines with strategic plan

It is very important to keep a consistent approach to publishing your blog post, as some readers have made their schedule in accordance to your post publishing time, as they are eager to know more.  If you suddenly change your publishing days, without notifying to readers ahead of time, you might even lose few of your subscribers or readers.

  • A good sense of humor

Taking things lightly and make others feel the same is very important for you as you do like to keep the atmosphere light and positive.  In order to provide a feeling a positive thinking around your post you have to be feeling positive when you are writing your post and at the same time use lighter words, humor jokes or event to lighten up before coming to the main point of the post is very important.

  • Using lists, pictures and videos

Nowadays people  like technology a lot.  They need to see a post that has a lot of white space in between, they want to watch a video and see more colors around to grasp all about the post before reading in full.  Multi media posts helps them a lot to read.

  • Content writer

It is very important to write to the point and only facts that are focused on the topic in discussion.  As no one wants read fluff, everyone is short on time and people are eager to read high demand fluff free information.  Also used best writing technique and simple language that is easy to understand.

  • Write search engine friendly & people friendly

In the last I can say that as an online writer a successful writer must write to meet the online standard delivering the contents that are indexed by search engines and are people friendly also.  The key secret is keywords and optimized contents.

This is all I can think  right now, the rest you have to tell me when you read this blog post.  Add more qualities of online expert blog writer that you know.  So my open minded approach gets more focused.

Thank you for reading the post

    What uuuuup Fran,

Wow, what an epic post! With so many blogs out there to day (millions and millions) it is important to make your stamp, bring your uniqueness and quirkyness to life in your writing. There is nothing that turns me off more. Than reading a mechanical and technical sounding blog- even if it has great information. I believe readers like to be entertained as well as informed. I like how you mentioned using lists pictures and videos, this has been on my mind recently and I hopr to implement more visual and engaging content in the near future.

    Hi Fran,
Well you certainly nailed it with that post. I think it is key to have not only a clear goal for your blog but a clear idea for what is going to feature on your blog.
This is something I have been looking at a lot lately, posting frequency, structure etc.
I have decided to structure the blog a little better, cover certain topics on certain days. It will make my life easier, and as you have pointed out it will make it easier for the readers as they will know what will be written about on certain days.
Very well executed post Fran. Thanks

Great post Fran! Being a blogger is defintiely not as easy as it sound. There are a lot of different qualities one should have and things to take care of. Hard work probably goes on the top of my list. Without it, you are just not going to leave a mark. A combination of hard work and persistence are the only way to succeed. Communication skill also play a significant role. The fact is that going on your own is not going to work, so you need to find the right people and get more personal with them.

    Hi Fran,

Super list. All are powerful tips but 3 resonate with me strongly.

Communication – One of the foundational qualities of a successful blogger is having the ability to effectively communication. Top Shelf bloggers are masters at making connections, both with your content and their interactions. Work on your people skills.

Kind and Compassioniate – This one is so underrated. Be open minded. If you do disagree with someone share your view in kind manner. No need to be confrontational; the goal is to make friends, not enemies.

Content Writer – Short and punchy is my mantra. People want the facts and have little time for extraneous information. Make your point in a direct manner than get off of your blogging platform.

Thanks for sharing your keen insight Fran.

I always think a blogger should have personality in the articles they write, this is what separates bloggers from journalists is the feedback and opinion they put into their writing, whereas journalists are just supposed to write bland direct accounts of information and reporting, bloggers add a human element to writing.

You are not sure about the sense of humor. It is very easy to understand. No one likes to read a boring simple information post, there has to be some, humorous style, so many people will read it. The more readership you have the better traffic you will get. People will like to come back and read your blog posts, because it is more fund than those posts that do not have humor in it.
It will put a smile on their face. That is why so many people like to add smile icons to the posts.

I’m not sure that just having a ‘writing passion’ directly is really useful, but rather having a writing passion for a particularly think is most important.

Sure i love writing, but that doesn’t mean i would still love it if i was writing a report on a set of statistics.

Find an interest inside of writing and that’s just amazing!

Great post Fran, got me thinking :)

    1. Fran Aslam

      Hi Peter:

Thanks for visiting and writing a comment. Passion to write is for those who are trying to survive blogging. Others who are charged and motivated for success they do not need this kind of passion. Writing passion is important to have. Once you have writing passion of any kind and a feeling to use it to up grade your blog , it will be much easier to write quality content that will attract the audience . You can advance your writing skill for the subject easily that you want to write about. Both kind of writing that you are asking about will help.

Having a writing passion directly will improve your blog much faster than only writing passion. It will take double the effort in later case. It will take triple effort if you did not write much and want to get learn good writing skills now along with blogging.

Every successful action has stages, where to start and how to optimize it.

I hope this explains it. Thanks for asking as It gave me a chance to talk about my perception in detail.

Make it an awesome day for yourself.

    Hi Fran

You have covered this topic extensively. I agree with all the points you have written about. And I love that you say we need a sense of humour ;-) One of the reasons I love visiting Alex Whalley’s site, and he is now a valued friend.

Infusing some humour can bring light relief as so much of what I do is serious; like my researching, getting down to my writing projects and so to read a post that makes me smile is most welcome during the day.

It is so much easier to love writing about something I both know about and am interested in too. Yes I can research and hopefully write well on most subjects; but if I am writing about the lovely lavender or doing a post for my “Patricia’s Ponderings” I find it most enjoyayable :-)

Hi Fran excellent post. I especially like that you talk about responsibility. Regardless of type of blog (personal, business, other) we all have a responsibility to make our writing unique, which is to say not simply regurgitate what we’ve read elsewhere, but to add our opinion and experience. That is what I believe can make it truly unique.

This is a great list. Im really really amazed at you captured the fundamentals. Every point you made I was like “yup…tru dat…yup..tru dat” lol

A point of contention on the last one regarding search engine and people friendly writing.

While you are absolutely correct, as a writer who writes in analogies and tells stories to make a point, its almost imposible to write for both. So I choose to write for people.

For example. I talk about improving one’s business in terms of child hatcheries. How can google figure out that post is actually a post about a biz concept? They cant. Not yet anyway.

So, while I agree with you I must recognize that a being a good write is really bad for your SEO lol

    Hi Fran

I liked the post – and agree with Dino in the comments above. You can’t write for the Search engines and People. If you gotta choose one, it’s people IMO.

I also think that you have to develop some sense of your own uniqueness – and when you develop that it needs to be stamped in the DNA of your blog so that people know what you stand for and what you’re about.

That way you can go about building your own tribe of like minded people.

One thing’s for sure – too many people start a blog without thinking through the requirements they need to sustain it in the months and years to come. They’ll find most of those requirements in your list above.

    Keep on, keeping on.

    Hi Fran,

Very interesting post you’ve got going here…

I’m no expert blog writer in fact I’m still very new to blogging. Being an Internet Marketing student at the ripe age of 46 I started my first blog for ONE reason, to make money from my readers.

And although that is still my aim I have learned that my initial goal for my blog now is to give, give, give.

So I reckon throughout my blog I now give 75 percent of the time without wanting anything back in return.

My posts used to be robotic like and had no personality behind them, that has now changed and I try and add a bit of “Me” into each post so, my posts are now a bit more REAL. :)

The whole “writing” part of my blog is becoming easier as I write more posts. I found that hard at first as I’m a very quiet guy in real life, I’m one of those that doesn’t go and interact with people but when people get to know me I gab endlessly.

Blogging is letting me skip straight to the gabbing stage without having to worry about what the other person thinks.

My comments are getting bigger as I blog more I notice too so I better cut it short here huh? ;)

But great post full of great tips which I have noted down for use on my own blog.

    Robert :)

All effective and desirable traits for an expert blogger, though expert and success don’t always go hand in hand and there are plenty of bloggers who reach success without being experts and even a greater number who I would consider experts who never reach success (at least by what most of us measure as successful) in this venture.

Humble and humility are a must, nobody is perfect and never preach when 90% of the “success” really got there by timing, luck and being at the right place and the right time with the right people like any other profession.

      Hi Justin:

I love your comment, I think just on your kind of way. But everyone does not feel this way, they do not even think in such a diversified manner, as they never generalize the results.

There are so many causes, for these results, that you can easily write a book on this topic.

I am getting to know your philosophies better now.

      Have a wonderful day.

      Hey Kerry Russell:

Thanks for the comment. Your advice is very useful about being yourself. Natural way of writing works best to express your ideas on paper or online. People connect with you in a very positive way grasping more of your energy from the writing.

      I agree with your approach.
