How To Write An eBook That Is Included In The Best Seller List
Writing an ebook is a popular activity for Internet suvvy people. Internet is full of people who make millions of Dollars writing and selling their own ebooks. Here are some of the examples, these writers made huge income being Independent writers and producing great income with ebooks.
- Bert Ingley – started his graphic design Career and love of sports and video games made him started writing eBooks on how to win at popular sporting video games producing $187, 000.00 in one year.
- Barbara Jennings – started working with Home Interior Decorating after a coaching course from Cori Rudy. Few years after coaching Interior designing, via Internet she started writing ebooks. She wrote several eBooks like Decor Secrets Revealed, Advanced Redesign and Pro Art Consulting and several others, producing a great income. Now she works 30 t0 60 minutes a day to maintain her business. In her spare time she still writes ebooks.
- Stuart – Lichtman – an MIT graduate, wrote and sold ebooks after working several years running 100 companies and training more than 50,00 people. His first ebook made $61,662.00 in 32 days.
There are several others who are doing the same, proving the importance of ebooks and the fact, how anyone can make money using Internet marketing tools. The abundance of online free ebooks at times artificially creates the low image of ebook in every ones perception. But still do not forget the fact that there is a huge number of most important ebooks that can never loose its high value. Many of those ebooks have a high price value too. For example The Super Affiliate Hand Book by Rosalind Gardner.
The question is how to create ebook that sells so much and never loose its value?
Research and Research again, find a great market, something that people need all the time. These people are desperate to get this information. They are ready to buy an ebook as soon as published.
Creating eBook:
Write the ebook with all the information in such a way that it provides comprehensive details to your market the way they will like it.
1. The ebook has to be full of real content. Facts example story all well related and qualitative information your market was expecting to get. Every reader understands the difference between factual content and fluff. Specially when they have to apply the knowledge from the ebook to fulfill the need they are waiting for.
2. Use readers perspective and be personal:
a. If you did understand your reader and their requirements before writing the ebook you will be able to write the best seller.
b. Target the market and its results in anticipation. There are several ways of doing it for example, you may find the average age of your reader and write the book in their language and their terms so the book creates a positive impression on them right away.
c. Use their emotions while writing the ebook. Imagine your target market and the way they feel about the information, provide comfort and ease while providing them this information so they feel really satisfied when they read your ebook.
d. When you are presenting the solution to their problem make them feel that your solution is the best way to solve their problem. Do this by examples stories or proof which ever works best depending on the situation. By concentrating target readers problems or helping them to avoid a pain or even by helping them achieve an important pleasure you will make your ebook a best seller.
3. Make it easy to understand:
Whatever may be the topic of your ebook make sure it is explained in simple English. Use your writing skills to make the ebook easy yo understand. Bring your information down to the most easily understood level. Every one will be able to use the book and the number of buyers will be more.
4. Editing and Proofreading:
Make sure the book is edited properly and there are no visible grammatical and spelling errors as it is a killer. Even an average book is supposed to be away from these mistakes and for a best seller it is very important to have the quality everyone can accept.
Regardless of your topic and writing style, you can create a popular best selling ebook. Just follow the vital and simple tips and make sure your reader is getting most of it.
The next step is to let this market know about the product that you have created by marketing everywhere. Use promotional marketing, consult PPC expert and write free advertising ads, everywhere possible, so everyone know about the ebook. Now you are all set for making a great income with this ebook.

Really like your point about editing. Unfortunately the majority of books (even by the so called ‘gurus’) are packed with poor grammar, spelling and punctuation. It is completely uneccessary.

Hi Fran,
A pretty staright forward post yoyu have here. I feel that the internet and ebook have pretty much open a wider gate for writer wannable (Me, included)to fulfill their dreams way easier tha before. While some argue that such convenience will only lower the standard of books on the whole, I feel that net-savvy-readers are way sophisticated to separate the craps from the real gold.
The 3 examples you wrote indeed represent the Real Gold that people will purchase.
Just some random thoughts from the post you wrote here.

Thank you for this post Fran – very informative and, for me, very timely.
I recommend using a spellchecker which also interprets grammar – checking spelling alone is not enough as many incorrectly spelled words are actual words, just in the wrong context – there/their/they’re, loose/lose (LOL!) and my personal hate – your/you’re – often slip though the spell checker.
Cheers!

Hi Fran
Thanks for a very informative post. You have given me some good ideas on how to write an e-book. I guess for me its something to work towards as my writting skills are not quite up to scratch.
With correct research and planning I may be able to get a book going. Many people are giving e-books away for free so dont you think that this devalues the worth of the book. Can an unknown sell a book this way?
I would be interested to know what you think. Many Thanks.

Hi Stan:
Your question is “can an unknown person write a book” ? If handled in detail this title can be a book and a best seller. You know why? Because my friend Glen ford (popular writer online) says
there are two different sections to a book. 1. Creating a book 2. Promoting a book.
A book that does not have real content needs expensive promotion and a strong publisher.
A book that is full of contents and latest information can be self published, and still can become a bess seller. So this is the basic strategy. Thank you for your time
Fran Aslam
Now if the writer is unknown, he/she gets a book written with exclusive rights, promotes it on a very high level becomes a best sellers, with his/her name. Marketing and Internet marketing is simply a powerful way to make money with the mental capabilities of the entrepreneur and technical know how for using the Internet freely. The rest comes on how much work you want to do.
So for an unknown person, to make money with an ebook is easy. First create credibility with advertising that the best writers book is to be published soon and then publish ghost written book with heavy promotions and make three times more money than a real writer.
That is the name of the game. I know all this, but personally for me I was raised on basic real and natural rules of life. Even today, I will write a book and then sell it.
Did I answer your question? I hope it does. Stan I like your group a lot, you all are people with the right attitude. I sould write to Jacinta thanking her that her 100 comments challenge got me lots of friends that I needed.
Good Morning Terry!
This time I have an apology for you to read. I am soooooooooooo…….Sorry for yesterdays reply to your comment. I re read it last night when I turned off my computer I was checking my
days work, how much I got done. I have seen your picture and your credibility in the group, I know you are great guy and for me to send such a bad formatted reply was totally wrong and not acceptable.
It happened because door bell rang I answered the door I got distracted, when I came back to my desk , my reply to you was there, since I completed it, I hit the submit reply button. The rest is regrets and history. Sorry for all the typo’s and my reply signed in the middle of the reply. I can not tell you the feeling I have. Please Please delete this reply from public reading right away, or I will die of the feeling that I will have. Once more I am sorry for not thinking straight and rechecking the email before pressing the submit button. A reply and a positive one will set my mind at a little ease.
You have an awesome day.

Hi Fran,
Interesting points, but I feel one could certainly be debated on it’s own merit…
Your last point about spelling etc.
In which language do we write???
And I’m referring to the ebooks most of us read being in some form of English!
I say some form – because we all have different spellings… so do we write in our own language – or do we edit everything into American English?
(which my browser insists on doing all the time when I post on blogs…lol)

Hi Fran, the ebook business can be a great business if done correctly. Good post, thank you for this good information.
I’d like to add research to see if there is a market for your ebook, it is very important.
A lot of people don’t realize they must market to a wanting market. If you don’t market to a wanting market, chances are your ebook will not sell.

Hi Fran,
Great blog post and very timely for me. You really have some great ideas that I will be using. I agree with the other comment’s regarding spell check, it is very embarrassing reading ebooks that have spelling and grammar errors. You should always re-read your ebook a couple of time and then give it to someone else to read, just to check for any mistakes.
Great post, I look forward to visiting your blog again soon.
Good luck in the challenge.

Hi Fran, I always try to write as if i’m talking to the person, and try my best to offer click by click instructions especially in the techie areas.
I agree with the proof reading, and think that everyone should seek an independant reader for this.
When i created my first eBook i made a very silly mistake and it got passed 5 or 6 readers before someone spotted it and pointed it out to me.
Randy raised a good point with regard to which dictionary we spell check by: Enlish US or English UK, being English in England i use the UK dictionary. But he does have a good point.

I did write and publish an ebook but at that time I used PPC and did not get much traffic.
Now not all of it but I know SEO writing and use of key words and What does Google Want.
So, may be I can do better this time. Randy asked a good question yesterday and I replied to him with an email, as I was in my cpanel and replied right from there. People are here to talk.
We have to do what we have to do. Today media and technology has connected everyone one
on the world wide web and people know the differences and still learn from each other. An American Internet Marketer goes to Singapore or philipines and conducts seminars that are to be paid in US dollars. They pay and they pay because they feel they got elite information. So life
goes on with our differences too. If we accept the differnce lightly. So what part of the world are you in? Nice chatting with you. I hope I did not take too much of your time.

Great advice for aspiring e-book writers and publishers. The only thing I would add is to have a beta reader or two. An extra set of eyes can help you find holes in the material. This is especially helpful if it is “how-to” type information. You wouldn’t want to leave out a key step. And when we do something often, we internalize the information and might forget to share it.

A useful outline for writing an eBook Fran, this post should be popular with the 100 comment challengers.
I’m just looking into your first point, find a market. I’m using ‘Market Samurai’ software to try and find a micro-niche market with high demand and weak competition.
I’m not ready to write an eBook yet, so if I find a promising niche market to exploit, I will create a website for affiliate products.

Good point about not all ebooks being freebies or giveaway junk. There are some gems out there and as an idiot I find it quite easy to write in a way that the total novice to a subject can understand! My last book on Facebook is a testimony to this.

Great advice Fran. It pays to write your first ebook about something you are passionate about even if it does not become a best seller.
The advice I had when I wrote mine was don’t try to get it prefect. Just do it and get it out there.
You get better at it the more books you write. But hey, if you have a best seller with your first one you may not need to write another!

Though I did write them at one time. I do ghost writing and my own articles to make money. If you feel up to read my new post here http://franstips.com/?p=251. I have a feeling information is brand new.

Hi Fran
I think an ebook will hold its value if its well written, includes really high quality information you can’t get elsewhere and is about an evergreen topic.
Love the simplicity of your blog design did you do it yourself?

Hi Dawn!
Thanks for writing a comment. But your words to express the value of ebooks are awesome.
You have said it all in these few words. But when it comes to reality of business, It has been said that there are two major attributes to an best seller. 1. The quality of the ebook 2. The promotion system of the ebook. In my blog post I talked about the first attribute of the ebook. But your words are really good and quotable. So what is your niche, or you have created a product already?
warmly

Hi Fran
Great advice. I’ve written a couple of reports that I give away free for list building purposes but my next project is to write an ebook to sell. I can’t imagine I’m going to write a bestseller but I can live in hope
And once you’ve written that bestseller you can always use one of the publishing on demand sites to turn it into a physical book and sell it on Amazon etc. The sky’s the limit!
Good luck with the Challenge.
Lynn
Hi lynn:

Hi Fran,
Great information on writing an ebook, thanks for that.
It’s such a fine line between getting it right and making some money and picking the wrong market or shoddy writing and the product bombing.
I have copied your post for my ebook writing swipe file and shall refer to it before any new project.

Hi Fran
eBooks are a great way for ordinary people to share their ideas with the world!
The information product business is open to all, with no special skills or tools needed and minimal investment to get started.
What other product can you create once and then sell over and over again, forever?

Hi Stuart:
Thanks for your comment on my blog post for 100 comments challenge. However you ended your comment with a question. And Interesting one. I use “My writing online” to make money.
This is what my blog says. The name of the blog is “online writing by Fran Aslam” I do ghost writing, write blog posts, articles press realeases and whatever client asks for. I am an online Freelance writer. Thanks for asking this question. Keep in touch any questions you have about writing do not forget to ask me. I have been studying ebook’s history and future right now. if you get interested read my latest blog post http://franstips.com/?p=251.
By the way what is your product?
Fran Aslam
Hi Fran
Great advice. I write my own ebooks for my internet marketing online business but I know some people “hit a brick wall” when it comes to writing. They shouldn’t let it get the better of them. Just outsource it and get it done!
I’ve posted a link to this page on identi.ca for you (makes a change from Twitter!)

Hi martyn :
Thanks for writting a comment. Since I am a Freelance writter, I did not write any ebooks yet.
Because I was focusing on technical writing more than ebooks. But when I noticed that writing as a Freelance writer I am depanding more on clients than my own work, I though of ebooks.
About four weeks ago, I started studing this topic and came up with amazing information about the future of ebooks reading devices and according to one prediction “book” will be completely elimnitated in 400 years. Ebooks will sell by chapters, with a different name. The future of Free content can change if bloggers start using reading deivces to transfer information as a paid gig.
The last portion of info that I just wrote here is giving me lots of ideas. What do you think of that. We are siting on something big. Why wait this long.
When I was writing a comment to your blog I shared your link at twitter and today I specially sent it to Yahoo BUzz.
Make it a great Friday for yourself.

Hi Fran,
Wow! You have some amazing comments here! Everyone is slowly getting around to everyone’s blogs.
I agree with Randy and writing in English and which English to use? I am Australian and I write according to the English UK version. Now with writing on the internet I am finding I am writing a combination of UK English and American English.
I also agree that checking spelling and grammar are so important plus proof reading and editing. A trick I use when I am editing my ebooks is to read the article out allowed to myself so I can hear it.
I find when I speak what I write I often find grammar mistakes easily that way.
Good luck with the challenge. I will be back here in a couple of days to check on your comments.
Hope all is going well.
Cheers

Hi Jacinta:
Hope you are not too stressed and tired by doing all you are doing extra these days to make us win. Thank you for visiting my site. I am honored and almost half of the team made it here so far.
You know something, first TV and then Internet has made this world so small that we all communicate with each other. When we communicate we take each others habits. A word that
I adopt reading my UK friend is foreign to my native American. It keeps working until one day suddenly they wake up and say this is not American and not accepted in writing. Almost every one faces this situation, and being more concerned about our socialization and careers we have to grow little more and ignore it as far as it is not directly hurting us. This happens to me a lot. So Jacinta the core organizer of this 100 comment challenge, what is the next step. I do want you to come up with an idea that we can keep seeing each other as a net working group, so we grow together, adding even more people to it. May be a membership site for social net working, or a site whatever you come up with I am with you.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Selling ebooks is a very easy way to monetize your online efforts. It also gives your readers and followers a chance to connect with you on a more advances level.
Writing one is hard though, I am working on one myself and I estimate it will take another 2 months before it is finished.
Hopefully people will be pleased with the quality of it though

Hi Daniel:
Thanks for replying to my comment. I noticed your articles are good. Daniel You would have noticed that I am also working with online writing as my niche. I have been ghost writing for a while. I started as a Freelance writer, as this keeps the verity going and less stress. I liked your article on sales, have not seen this topic for a while. Have you read the most selling book on the Internet about selling by Rosalind Gardner. I wanted to but never got my hands on it.
I have book marked your site to come back and read your articles.

Hi Fran,
Very good advise here I was taught to be passionate about what your writing with that being said it’s not about picking a niche, it’s about finding a niche, then find an unmet need and solve it, deliver a tangible result and never keep your best idea’s a secret. Create real value for people and it could be a best seller.
Thanks for the post.

Hi Mike:
Thanks for the comment. Mike did you get to read about the revolution digital publishing and Information technology is going through. It is a very hot topic these days. Ebook industry is starting the big revolution of changing everything into pixel from ink. It is not final what and how they will come to a platform to do it. But it is great chance for ebook writers and publishers and for that matter I read even blog writers who write free contents. If blog writers find a way that their blog posts can be read on ebook devices and it becomes a paid gig by the post. It is going to be great for the bloggers. Food for thought.
Take care
Fran Aslam
Thanks for sharing the process of writing and ebook. I just wrote my first and I will remember these when I write the next.

Hi Fran,
Excellent advice. The proofreading is especially important, even if your grammar and spelling is excellent, you will always miss something.
I get my mother to proof read all my work, she is a retired English teacher, so also free which is a bonus.
