Blogging is a main stream activity for last several years on the Internet and it is multiplying every year.  New bloggers  who join the blogsphere need readership to their blogs and therefore, guest blogging  was introduced.  The objective is to provide a platform for the new and established blog writers.

Since it involves two parties, guest blogging is chosen and planned very carefully,  the need to secure all the possibilities for the success of both parties is even  important than one alone.  All measures are taken to make sure both come out of it with flying colors.

A written agreement that points out the action boundaries for each step for both the parties will make them move successful within those limits, one agreed upon.

• Once a guest blogger has added the post to the hosts blog, the post is linked to the host blog and guest’s original blog for traffic purposes.  Linking is fine as it is a post written by the poster, but how many times?  A constant linking does not pay and in some cases may even hurt the host blogger.  so there has to be a clear agreement for this situation.

• The host blogger should agree to have a byline about the guest blogger’s blog.  This byline will be indexed by the search engines to provide traffic to the guest blog and at the same time readers will get to know the details about guest’s own blog.

However, some exceptions exist here.  When both the blogs are relevant and add value of the post, self linking to the post is okay.  Self linking to the first paragraph is acceptable by the guest blogger and in some situation link in the bottom of the post if required and agreed upon in the agreement.

How Can A Guest Blogger Enhance This Experience With Some Extra Work

Guest Blogging can be a single post, invitation to the guest or may be one full week of daily posts or even in some cases it could be two weeks of blog posts for the guest to write.  Just depend on the contract and need of the blog owner.  At this time how does a guest blogger handles the blog entries?   Do not simply behave as if you know everything about blogging and can do it any ways.   But read the blog carefully and make a plan, a plan that gives you all name and fame to do the job.  To get the best reputation do the following:

• Research the blog by reading it carefully.
  

1. Think of the blog readers and what will they like to know more about.
2. Get to know the writing style of the blogger.
3. What are the unwritten rules of the blog that you have to write.  Get to know as much as possible to use it while writing posts.

These points will be  helpful for writing a post that readers will like to read, as they like the style of the host blogger.

• Write in your own style:

This does not mean you have t copy the style of the host.  Be yourself as your name is there and readers know it is a different writer.  In case you copied the host you will not be able to express yourself impressively.  Therefore, do the best as you can and do not take the blog to a completely different direction.

• Show  all you got:

if you are an eager blogger to get credibility to your blog, you will show some extra capabilities by reading the blog carefully and noticing what is missing that his audience will like to have.  Add the unique touch to the blog with the same discussion.  That will make you recognized by the audience, that you got the readers a more fuller picture of the topic in discussion.

• Some other minor points to pay attention are:

1. Host blogger must see the title of the post before submitting.
2. Host blogger must see the post before submitting.
3. Host blogger must know the length of the post before publishing.
4. Publication rights must be discussed in the agreement for as many days as needed.
5. Accept only digital submission.
6. Schedule publication date of the posts with the guest blogger.

If every necessary step of the blog posting is discussed ahead of time in writing there is no reason for the guest blogging to go sour.  Both parties are eager to do it and they will try their best to do it.  An agreement for guest blogging is an important factor to determine its success.  Remember extra effort and care brings excellent results and that is what you are looking forward to.
